Louise Van Hine: A Ballad of R+C

In the first days of the Rose and Cross
I met the Mariner's Albatross
I saw the Tyger burning bright
And fought with Los throughout the night.

In the first days of the Rose and Cross
I found the coin I thought I lost
An angel lighted on my pen
And poetry was mine again.

In the first days of the Rose and Cross
The spring replaced the winter frost
And clouds which fled before my eyes
Revealed my Muse 'neath starry skies.
