Rose Flint's poems

Rose Flint is a poet and artist. She is a trained Art Therapist and uses both image and words in her work in this field. She teaches creative writing at all educational levels, runs workshops and courses. An experienced poetry reader/performer on her own, she also works with the women's group Erato, which comprises poets Mary Palmer and Rachael Clyne and musician Diana van Looke.

At the moment, Rose has a six month poetry residency - a `Poetry Place' award from the Poetry Society - which has placed her in the context of a doctor's surgery.

`Connections', `Blue Horse of Morning', `Brazen Marriage', `Sixteen, Seventeen', `Night Terrors', `The Tractor Driver' are from her Seren book Blue Horse of Morning. `Shamanka', `The Swimming Dreams' are from the Stride anthology of women's poetry The Rainbow's Quivering Tongue. `Pagan Lady' is from her Radio 4 Kaleidoscope Special Longings: The Isle of Man. This poem also won the English section of the Irish international poetry competition Comortas Filiochta.
